In 1969, the Las Vegas Hilton first opened as the International Hotel. It was renamed the Las Vegas Hilton in 1971 and has been home to countless shows and satisfied guests every since. Elvis Presley broke the Las Vegas attendance records at this very hotel. The hotel is still home to groundbreaking entertainers. Barry Manilow continues to write original songs in the Hilton Theater.
The Las Vegas Hilton caters to both leisure guests there simply to take in the Las Vegas experience as well as business men and women who are looking to be catered to on a business level. The Las Vegas Hilton is ideally located right on the strip, so even for those business execs who are there for corporate reason only, it’s easy to do a quick escape for at least one night onto the strip. When you enter the hotel, you pull into a completely renovated porte-cochere and when in the hotel you notice brand new sparkling tile floors and a majestic water feature located behind the front desk. Monday, April 27th, 2009

www.cheaplasvegashotelsonline.comOriginally a hotel that featured a Wild West theme, this Las Vegas Hotel has been remodeled to include white and brass facades that grace the entrance way of this grand hotel. A new construction is taking place which will be a West Tower to include another five hundred rooms. The construction may be completed near the end of 2010 or beginning of 2011. White marble floors are the showcase when you first enter the hotel lobby and magnificent brass and glass chandeliers hang from overhead mounted on impressive mirrored ceilings.

No matter what you venue of preference includes, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino is sure to have what you are looking for. This Las Vegas Hotel has a casino, poker room, headliner entertainment, find dining, casual dining, a spa, a fitness center, and salon services. Dining at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino is a pleasure with choices like a fine steakhouse, Italian outlets, Asian outlets, buffet dining, and cafes and bars that are opened all day and all night for your convenience.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Review

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

hardrockhotel_090907Surprisingly this Hard Rock branded Hotel and Casino has no affiliations with the Hard Rock Café chain or any other Hard Rock hotels for that mater. It is the very definition of a resort and this may very well be one of the must fun places in Las Vegas to stay. It is independently owned and totally designed for one reason: please the guests who come from all over the world to visit. The hotel is still adorned with rock memorabilia. They claim to have around six hundred costumes displayed at different times in different places. They also have tons of signed guitars and rock concert posters.

A huge feature of the hotel is the three acre water playground with showcases two connected sand beach lagoon style pools. These pools are closed during the winter, but during summer they are a destination no doubt. Aside from the beach like pools, a spiral tunnel water slide is always popular as well as the grotto bar, four hot tub spas. To put a little twist to your regular casino gambling, try your luck at the “swim up” black jack and craps tables. These are found in the impressive swim up gazebo. Also at the pool and beach area you will find Thatched roof cabanas complete with flat screen TVs, telephones, and ceiling fans. These can be rented through the concierge desk or the front desk. And what better to play in the background at the swimming park? Rock, of course! Check out the underwater speakers to hear the music even when you’re swimming in the pool! An Indonesian style grill is also located in the central gazebo. Needless to say this is the place to be in the warm months.

The fun isn’t only outside though. Back inside, this Las Vegas Hotel offers over thirty thousand square feet of gambling and fun. There is a nightclub called Body English and The Joint, which hosts rock entertainers and boasts speakers reaching twenty five feet tall! Dining can take place in one of five restaurants, four lounges, and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino even offers a cigar bar.

To tone things down a bit, visit The Rock Spa. This luxurious spa brings guests saunas, steam rooms, signature treatments, a salon service, and Vichy showers. A favorite amongst the Las Vegas visitors as well as Las Vegas locals is the Mediterranean Organic Veggie Wrap. This skin smoothing wrap that also includes a firming mask uses botanical extracts like tomato, pumpkin, and artichoke.

Guest rooms offer a contemporary and “cool” design influence. You will find premium bedding, leather headboards, velour furnishing, and lovely rich purple drapes. The bathroom is just as luxurious offering guest’s extra deep stainless steel sinks, and signature Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Unlike many competitor hotels, this Las Vegas Hotel also includes 42 inch plasma screen televisions, a Bose Wave AM/FM stereo with CD player, and high speed internet that can be accessed with additional charges.

Apollo Night Flight Tour

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

263-1Why just walk down the strip on the evenings when you can FLY over the strip? See the Las Vegas strip like very few tourists EVER get to see it. Experience the strip from high above in a helicopter that cruises over Las Vegas Boulevard. Take flight in the nighttime air as the lights of the strip come on. You will see the lights of the five star hotels like never before. See the Luxor Pyramid’s endless beam from the air.

How will you respond? Helicopter pilots say they have seen passengers scream over the marvelous views, to those that are completely speechless over the beauty. No matter what your age or where you’re from, you’re guaranteed to be in awe of these magnificent and breathtaking views.

When you first arrive, you will be required to watch a safety and orientation video. This is a change to relax and unwind. Sip a glass of Champaign if you wish and ask as many questions as you like.

You then travel up to the launching pad where you get an amazing view of the towering 1,149 foot tall stratosphere tower, the Paris Las Vegas, the Wynn Las Vegas, the Bellagio, and the New York – New York. But all of this is NOTHING compared to what comes next.

The helicopter ride doesn’t just show its guests the strip; it also tours you around the historic downtown Las Vegas and over Fremont Street. If you are worried about heights, don’t be. One pilot when interviewed stated that two of the pilots themselves are scared of heights, but when they are 1000 feet in the air, it’s not a problem at all. Passengers are usually so impressed with the sights of this amazing city that they completely forget about how high up they are. Unlike airplanes can sometimes be, guests are surprised on how UN-bumpy and UN-choppy this experience is. All of the pilots are well trained and professionals, making guests very comfortable.

As previously mentioned, there is no age limit to the ride, but pilots note that the older the child, the more they seem to appreciate the experience. A video in DVD format is available to purchase at the end of the ride to remember your experience. This is recorded by a professional video photographer and is the perfect way to show family and friends the adventure.

The company also allows couples to book the helicopter just for themselves of their friends. One pilot told interviewers of a time when a man booked the flight for himself, his fiancé and their friends. He remembers the man proposing to her, her crying, and the entire helicopter cheering for the newly engaged couple. This can truly be one of the most amazing experiences a person can take.

Another local resident of Las Vegas actually took his girlfriend and blindfolded her before boarding the helicopter. She loved the experience and encourages both tourists and locals to experience the ride.

Aliens WELCOME! The Area 51 Tour!

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

area51mainWhat happens in Vegas… is covered up by the military?
For years the mystery of area 51 has haunted the minds and hearts of many believers, and sparked endless curiosity of those non believers. Could the really be extraterrestrial life forms out there? More importantly has the government discovered them already? And ever MORE important than that, if the government HAS discovered alien life form, why would they hide this from their country?

Area 51 is highly top secret and admittance into the government controlled area 51 is strictly prohibited. However… the experts at the Area 51 SUV Tour can get up as close as possible so you and your family can search for the truth yourselves! The Area 51 SUV tour is the perfect adventure for UFO enthusiasts, those that are curious about extraterrestrial life, and even those who still remain skeptics. They may just not remain so skeptical after this tour.

A scenic SUV ride is the first adventure on this tour. You will be driven through the desert as you head to the ancient Indian petoglyphs. These petoglyphs are very strange and give off an eerie and alien like vibe. Get your cameras ready folks, because your tour guide then takes you to a mysterious lake bed that has been totally dried. This lake bed has severed as the location of numerous still to be explained UFO sightings. The same sightings that the government has not only refused to give one hundred percent explanation to, but may be covering up!

When you have gotten all the pictures you think your camera can hold you will once again take to the road and journey along the famous “Extraterrestrial Highway”. On this highway your tour guide will stop you at the “Little A’le’Inn”. Such movies as “Independence Day”, and other famous documentaries have been hosted by this store and restaurant. You will be able to purchase numerous books and other paraphernalia on the Area 51 cover up and the theories that go along with the alien sightings. Even the ex-air force captain, Chuck Clark, has his book available for sale discussing the events at Area 51.

By this time your stomach may be speaking its own alien language so there is no better time to stop for lunch. Enjoy a interesting and appropriate meal of ‘Alien Burger’ before re-boarding the SUV and hitting the road once again. Your tour guide will inform you that you have finally reached the infamous “BLACK MAILBOX” which is the signature mark to the entrance of Area 51, the official government facility. This is also a sacred meeting point for Alien Enthusiasts all over the world that come to meet together to discuss their believes and theories. After traveling through the Joshua Tree Forrest, you will arrive at the absolute perimeter of Area 51. From here no unauthorized military figure can ever pass. Many military personnel are not even allowed past this point. No other place on earth will you see signs and surveillance cameras posted on cacti reading “Top Secret Military Facility, Keep Out, Use of Deadly Force Authorized.” Welcome to the worlds most famous military site.

blackcanyonViewing the Hoover Dam isn’t an option for most visitors of Las Vegas, it’s a requirement. But not all tourists get to see it from such a spectacular view as the Black Canyon. Regardless of whether you think you’re the world’s best paddler or the world’s worst paddler this is a must for anyone who wishes to see the Hoover Dam.
The Black Canyon itself is a spectacular and amazing spectacle, but paired with the adventure of Kayaking and also the views of the Hoover dam, there is no better way to experience these destinations than directly from on the water.
Your tour starts with a hotel pick up that included with the tour price. You will be welcomed into the van along with other guests who will be experiencing this once in a lifetime event with you. You can only imaging the excitement, conversation, and meet and greet that goes on between the hotel and the destination point. This is where you first meet your partners, fellow paddlers and become instant friends. These guests are going to share an experience with you that many people will never have the pleasure of experiencing.
When you step out of the van you find yourself at the amazing base of the Hoover Dam. You will meet your tour guides, be encouraged to ask additional questions, and receive the tools needed for the adventure soon to follow. Your guides will help you into your live preservers (life vests), give you sunscreen (many tourists don’t realize how important this can be if you are not used to the sun), and finally a dry bag for essentials that you will take on the kayak with you.
At this point you and your family and friends are carefully instructed on boarding the kayak. Your guide will answer any additional questions that you have about kayaking. Don’t worry, many of the passengers, like you perhaps, have never been in a kayak, so you are not alone! Your guide will teach you how to sit in the kayak as well as the best rowing techniques. Once the kayak leaves the shore, your tour has begun!
All of the guides are professional kayakers and experts at what they do. They are knowledgeable about the Black Canyon and the Hoover Dam. They will offer an abundance of interesting facts, trivia, and answer any question you can conjure up for them! When you get to the best point for viewing the Hoover Dam, your guide will inform you that this is the best spot for taking pictures. This breathtaking view, remember, is one that VERY FEW people ever get to see it from. The Hoover Dam is one of the greatest man made structures the world has ever seen.

Donny and Marie at the Flamingo Hotel

Monday, April 20th, 2009

donny_marieNeither Donny, nor Marie, is a stranger to the stage. The spot light is where these two extroverted personalities have made their place into the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. The entire Osmond family has an impressive history throughout all of Las Vegas. When Donny was only seven years old he opened at the Sahara hotel for Shirley Bassey as he performed for an eager audience with his brothers’ singing group. It wasn’t until 1973 that Donny and Marie first showed us what a powerful team they made together when they performed together at Caesars Palace during the Osmond’s own show at that theater. All through the 70’s the Osmond family performed at almost every single hotel on the strip including the Tropicana and Las Vegas Hilton.

Las Vegas was thrilled to learn that Donny and Marie just signed a two year contract to perform at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel. At the MGM Grand just this summer they sold out a run of shows before opening their engagement at the Flamingo in September. This is their first residency in Vegas in 29 years.

This family friendly production at the Flamingo, titled “Donny & Marie”, sticks closely to their 1970s TV program and gives this excited audience dancing, humor, and numerous hit songs. Songs include famous duos as well as singles.

Starting with a duet that includes “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me),” “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” and “Dancing in the Streets,” the show continues into the night with plenty of sibling rivalry that we have all come to love and expect. Jokes about Donny being a grandfather, warm up the audience for a night of more laughter and tons of fun.

While we all love the two together, they have both shown the world that they can carry their own as independent artists as well. Marie has an opportunity to perform her number one song that lit up country charts, “Paper Roses.” She performed the song for the first time when she was only thirteen years old. And don’t worry, for the ladies in the audience she livens things up a bit with four male dancers as she performs “Would I Lie to You.”

Marie takes the audience through a vocal journey performing Broadway hits and even the famed operatic piece “Pie Jesu.” Marie has a very strong voice and she blows the audience away with her impressive range, tone, and clear crisp voice.

Donny, as everyone knows, is a little more edgy and prefers a more rock ‘n’ roll approach and lights up the audience with his 1989 comeback hit “Soldier of Love.” He goes into a very impressive medley of Stevie Wonder hits paying tribute to his musical hero.

But don’t worry ladies. He knows what landed him in your hearts during the 70’s. Love ballads such as “Puppy Love,” and “Go Away Little Girl,” raises excited screams, and if he doesn’t get them, he humorously asks for them!

Don’t dare go to Vegas and miss this heartwarming variety show featuring a brother and sister duo that will live in our hearts through all time and continue to be legends all along the Vegas Strip.
